oil filter removal tool

Trailblazer Vortec 4.2L oil filter access and removal tool?

GM engineers out did themselves on this one. Just went to change my 05 TB filter for the first time...holy crap. Any tips out there for accessing the filter...should I grap it from underneath or from the side (thru suspension)?
Also, a recommendation

You can buy a cup type oil filter wrench to help with removeal at your local auto parts store.These are really messy filters to remove.I have found shop towels are the only way to help with the waste oil going were it dont belong.Best of luck with your
