What engine & gearbox would fit into a 1978 reliant Scimitar

i have a 1978 Reliant scimitar gte auto and i recently sold the engine and am wondering is there an engine and manual gearbox that would fit into it because im sick and tired of autos
Briggs and stratton make a number of good motors that will fit right in with room to spare
